Publication

Enter a publication name to search the Source field in a record. Titles of Arabic-language publications have been transliterated from Arabic script to English script. Consequently, to search for Arabic-language publications, you may enter the title in either Arabic or English script. For example:

مجلة العلوم الإنسانية finds records of articles published in مجلة العلوم الإنسانية

MAGALLAT AL ULUM AL INSANIYYAT finds the same records because it is a transliteration of the title مجلة العلوم الإنسانية

Note: mva: الإنسانية in Arabic is transliterated as MAGALLAT AL ULUM AL INSANIYYAT and translated in Google Translate as “Humanities Journal.”

Enter the full publication name of an Arabic-language publication in Arabic or English script.

مقاليد finds records of articles published in مجلة مقاليد

Maqalid (Warqlaẗ) also finds records of articles published in مجلة مقاليد

For titles transliterated from Arabic script to English script, you may enter a partial title followed by a wildcard:

Maqalid* finds records of articles published in journals whose titles begin with Maqalid (Warqlaẗ)

القانون* (Law*) finds records of articles published in مجلة القانون والأعمال (Journal of Law and Business) or مجلة كلية القانون للعلوم القانونية والسياسية (Journal of College of Law for Legal and Political Science )

You cannot truncate the name of an Arabic-language publication in Arabic script.

You may search for documents from multiple publications by combining publication names with the search operator OR:

جلة القانون والأعمال (Journal of Law) OR مجلة القانون والأعمال (Journal of Law and Business) finds records of articles published in either جلة القانون والأعمال or مجلة القانون والأعمال (Journal of Law and Business)

Address

The Arabic Citation Index provides partial addresses of authors. Generally, the name of the institution and department name are given, but the country name or full mailing address is not provided.

A superscript next to an author name indicates the corresponding address in the Addresses field.

If the name of an author in Arabic script has been transliterated into Latin script, then an address for that author is usually supplied in both Arabic and English.
